Krishna Vastra Leela
In the playful tales of Krishna Leela, a moment of divine mischief unfolds along the riverbanks. As the Gopis bathe in devotion, Lord Krishna playfully hides their garments atop a tree — a moment remembered in folklore as Vastra Haran. This saree captures that timeless episode through intricate Madhubani storytelling.

🌸 The Art & The Craft
✨ Hand-painted over several days by Mithila artisans, this saree transforms fabric into a canvas of mythology and devotion.
Every Rangika Studio saree is individually hand painted by skilled Mithila artisans, preserving a centuries-old artistic tradition from the villages of Bihar.
For this saree, artisans have illustrated the beloved episode of Krishna’s playful Vastra Haran Leela. The central pallu depicts Krishna seated gracefully on a tree branch while the Gopis stand in the river below, surrounded by flowing water, lotus flowers, and lush foliage — a scene filled with symbolism and narrative beauty.
No two pieces are ever identical. Subtle variations in brush strokes and colour intensity are the natural signature of handmade art.
Depending on the complexity of the artwork, a saree like this may take nearly three weeks of careful hand painting, transforming the fabric into a living canvas of mythology and devotion.
