About Us

Our Journey

From Social Research to Social Enterprise

Rangika Studio was born not from a boardroom idea, but from years of ground-level engagement with communities across India.

Our parent organisation, Urja Arrowhead LLP, is an action research and social impact enterprise working extensively in the development sector. Through feasibility studies, Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), and capacity-building initiatives with Panchayati Raj Institutions, Urja has worked closely with grassroots organisations to strengthen local systems and livelihoods.

During this journey, one truth became increasingly clear:

Talent exists in abundance. Opportunity does not.

Across villages and small towns, we met skilled communities whose craft carried generations of knowledge, yet their economic reality remained fragile. The gap was not skill — it was structured market access.

That insight became the foundation of Rangika Studio.

The Turning Point: Meeting the Artisans

In recent years, Urja Arrowhead LLP connected with a group of highly skilled Madhubani artisans from Madhubani and Patna districts, many of whom had been trained and upskilled by PHIA Foundation.

These artisans belong to historically marginalised communities. Their art reflects centuries-old storytelling traditions, intricate symbolism, and deeply rooted cultural expression. Every line, every motif carries heritage.

Yet despite their extraordinary craftsmanship, they faced:

  • Limited access to premium markets
  • Lack of branding and positioning
  • Irregular income opportunities

The challenge was not creativity. It was connection.

The Birth of Rangika Studio

Rangika Studio was established as a brand under Urja Arrowhead LLP to bridge this very gap.

It was never meant to be just another online store.

It was created as a structured, sustainable platform where:

  • Traditional artistry meets contemporary design
  • Grassroots talent meets organised market access
  • Cultural heritage meets modern branding
  • Social purpose meets premium positioning

We invited artisans not as beneficiaries — but as collaborators and co-creators.

Our Mission

Art with Purpose. Enterprise with Impact.

At Rangika Studio, we are committed to:

  • Creating stable and fair income opportunities for artisans
  • Elevating traditional Madhubani art through global digital platforms
  • Strengthening livelihoods in marginalised communities
  • Enabling economic dignity through structured enterprise
  • Building pride and recognition for indigenous craftsmanship

Every piece we curate and create carries more than aesthetic beauty.

It carries resilience. It carries heritage. It carries transformation.

Rangika Studio is where art becomes empowerment — and enterprise becomes impact.
